Homemade Hottie

I had a go at making a hot water bottle cover last week on my trusty sewing machine, and result is shown below! I really like the flowery corduroy fabric that I found in the haberdashery shop. The trim is made of a velvety material which is very soft. I am now thinking that they may make rather nice Christmas pressies so may have a go at making a few more in fun/vintage fabrics....

And I used the extra padding that I bought to make a cute little camera/phone case with a drawstring fastening - which I much prefer to the grey boring one that I used to have!

  1. Love your hot water bottle - my little boy would approve of you using cord, so soft and snuggly. And it's so pretty, too.

  2. Lovely, lovely hottie cover! That velvet trim really makes it doesn't it? Just gorgeous, lucky people who get one of those for their christmas pressie. Love Vanessa xxx

  3. Clever girl! You are really getting some great results from the old machine. I will have to rescue mine again from under the dining table...
